All of these pictures are from the "Best of the Best" week (my 2nd week of work) Where we invite the top 75 or so Estee Lauder salespeople to NYC for a week of fun. Luckily, I got to attend all the events. It was fun fun fun fun fun!!

The road to stardom starts with a $500 down payment...

I've always wanted to be famous (more famous than I already am..ha ha ha)

Hanna and I were joking about how we wanted to be on the show "millionaire matchmaker" and on Friday, while bored at work, I decided to figure out how to apply to be on the show. I mean, who wouldn't want to date a millionaire?

So, I found a website to apply for the show and I also discovered it was very easy to apply to other reality TV shows at the same time. Why not? All you had to put was your height, weight, age, and a picture of yourself. (The most important qualities of being cast for a reality tv show obviously).

I forgot all about doing that until I got a call from the casting agency this morning asking me to come in for an audition TODAY. After calling Hanna and laughing for like 10 minutes about this happening, I decided to do it. I wanted to see what the whole tv/acting world is all about.

I am now extremely grateful for the fact that I have an actual job and don't have to resort to auditioning at these terrible places ever again. I walked in and sat in a waiting room with 100 other people applying for modeling/acting jobs. The place is called "One Source Talent" if you wanted to know. The owner came in at first to tell us all about how brutal the acting/modeling agency world is..and the whole time I'm thinking...since when do I want to be a model/actor?? All I want is to be on the jersey shore or some other trashy show where all I do is drink and act like an idiot....

At the end of explaining that we had to pay $500 for our "comp cards" which are oh-so necessary in the modeling/acting world, and pay a small monthly fee of $39.99 (what a deal!!), he told us the door was right there and we were welcome to leave if we weren't 100% sure and serious about being an actor.

All I could think about at that point was how do I leave without looking stupid and also trying to remember where the Wendy's was that I passed on the way to the place cause I was starving.

They proceeded to call names for quick interviews and luckily I was one of the first to be called otherwise 2 minutes later you'd find me at the Wendy's ordering the biggest thing on the menu.

I walked in and the girl told me to go stand over "there" so she could check me out basically. She was like "so why do you want to be model/actor" and I'm like "Umm honestly I just want to be on reality TV." And she basically told me I would be great for commercials and other acting opportunities (Oh really, cause you know me so well and know I'm a great actor just by looking at me...PS-I'm a terrible actor).

She asked me to come back tomorrow and I was like ummm sure! What do I do after that? She then "reminded me" I needed to pay $500 for my comp cards (WTF are comp cards?!).

Never going back. Ever. But now I have a cool story for my blog so at least it all worked out in the end!!

Serious Shopping Addiction

I love life!! I spent way too much money this weekend and now I'm on a shopping high. Between being excited about my new purchases, being happy a bunch of my friends are now in the city, the governor's ball on Saturday, Alice Lee coming to visit this coming weekend, and knowing Tessa will be here in less than a month, I'm basically about to pee myself from excitement.

Here's a rundown of the weekend:

Friday: lunch with Hanna and a trip to the new cupcake place Sprinkles, long nap, and then free open bar with all my friends interning here this summer. It was SO FUN.

Saturday: Slight hangover cured by large brunch with Hanna, shopped at Urban, and walked around Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill. On Saturday night, Hanna came uptown with me and we watched Millionaire Matchmaker and got serenaded by my roommate Parker who loves to practice Karaoke in his room all the time.

Sunday: Most delicious crepes in the world with Hanna followed by more shopping in Columbus Circle. I purchased some fabulous new Kate Spade shades and some HIGH nine west heels, as well as some sale items from j.crew which I convinced myself were a great deal so I HAD to get them.

What is it about NYC that makes you want to spend all your money??
