Jamie Greenberg

Today was so busy and so exciting and so crazy and so wonderful-I feel more and more lucky every single day that I'm here!! I spent the first part of the morning running around (literally) Manhattan looking for shoes to use as vases in a meeting tomorrow. Then...the best part of my day...meeting Jamie Greenberg! She is a celebrity makeup artist that works with mark-and she is one of the coolest, most down to earth, most hilarious people I've eva met! She is equally obsessed with my favorite comedians Zach Galifianakis and Aziz Ansari-so we are pretty much soulmates. It has been a very long day so I'm just posting one picture but watch out for more coming soon! xoxox

Only in New York...

Today was so(ho) much fun! (lame-I know) One of my roommates-Amanda & I-woke up bright and early to go shopping and walk around Soho. Soho is my faaaavorite place in the city and it's not too far from Brooklyn Heights. We shopped for a while in Soho and then went to the Big Apple BBQ in Madison Square Garden. It was so crowded but soo delicious. Check out my pics:

My future bathtub. Yes-in a high heel shape. Very necessary.

I will also take the golden statue.

CRUMBS!!!! I love this place so much. It's unfortunate that the calories are listed right beside each cupcake. Totally worth it though.

Madison Square Park!

My future wedding dress-in Anthropologie in Soho.

Amanda looking as cute as can be!!

The line Amanda and I waited in to get our delicious BBQ plate.

Attention all hot men of the world: do not scarf down your food in front of me-I will publicly embarrass you in front of the world (aka: my blog)

My food that was sooooooo yummy!

First Friday

The perfumers at Firmenich. They make tons and tons of famous and amazing fragrances...probably the one you are wearing right now! Today we were celebrating winning tons of awards at the FIFI's last night!

Lauren, Hilary, Arpi and I enjoying the beautiful weather on our porch!

Day Two!!

My beautiful mentors! Lauren on the left and Hillary on the right. I absolutely adore them! They took me to dinner tonight at a Japanese restaurant near Bryant Park (below)

One of my tasks today was to pick out and arrange different fragrances for a meeting with Brazil on Monday (which I'm very excited to attend!!)

It's almost 10 pm and I'm totally exhausted and my bunk is calling my name.

xoxoxo

First Day!

I had the best first day ever! These are all the gifts that were at my new desk when I got there yesterday:I absolutely love my new mentors (I'm the only intern that has 2...lucky me!)
The first thing I did at the office was meet everyone...I met somewhere around 50 people and I don't remember anyone's name...but hopefully I'll learn. I'm sooo lucky to have my own desk. Such a luxury for an intern!!

After I met everyone I sat down in my office and smelled all the perfumes from the picture at the top. My first actual task was to come up with names for 3 American Eagle perfumes. After that, my mentors and I went to the mark office for lunch with all the new interns. It was soooo nice to see everyone!

I'll update with more details later--but I'm off to work now!

One week down...

Hello everyone!

I'm back in the city this summer interning for Firmenich, a fragrance company. I start work tomorrow but I have been in the city for exactly one week! I'm really excited to start working and to see everyone in the mark office again!!

I'm going to try to recap the entire week in pictures. And I'm going to try to update my blog every day so keep checking!!

So far, I've been exploring the area around where we're living, catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones! Shoutout to my BFF Haley who is interning at mark this summer!

Leaving my house around 6:30 AM for my flight in Charlotte on Sunday May 30.

Goodbye Fairview!

My sweet little sister, Meredith decided to come along for the ride.

Hello NYC!

I had to reach over 2 people beside me to take these picture-but it was worth it.

Hanna starting to unpack one of her 4 suitcases.

The joys of dorm life.

The view from our window on the 10th floor!

My friend PJ and I on the first night out! Not quite sure what that green concoction is.

Hanna and I enjoy rat-watching while waiting for the subway.

My first Red Mango experience. Almost as good as Pinkberry.

Haley-excited for her first RM experience.

This is the view from where we live in Brooklyn Heights. You can see the Brooklyn Bridge to the right and the Statue of Liberty to the left.

The brooklyn bridge!

Central Park-right around where I'll be working all summer.

This is the building where I'm working all summer: 625 Madison Ave.

Got yelled at for putting my feet on that table.

When I live in NYC, I want to have rooftop parties like this one all the time.

PJ and I at internbar night.

I think I might try this new and innovative approach to blocking out annoying subway passengers.

It was a very long and exhausting week.
